FSF Recipes – Raw Kale Chips


Raw Kale Chips

Ingredients

- 1 big bunch of kale (approx. 150g)
- 3 tbsp almond or nut butter OR 1 dl of peeled almonds, cashews or other nuts of your choice
- 4-5 pitted dates
- 2 tbsp raw cacao or carob powder
- 3-4 sachets FSF Instant Reishi (or other Instants)
- 1-2 tsp vanilla powder
- pinch of quality salt
- water, almond milk, hemp milk or milk of your choice
- (cinnamon, cardamom, chili, ginger or other spices and herbs)
- (stevia if you desire even sweeter chips)

Raw Kale Chips ”Licorice & Banana/ Avocado) (does not contain nuts)

Ingredients

- 1 big bunch of kale (approx. 150g)
- 1 dl blended banana or avocado
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 tbsp raw cacao or carob powder
- 3-4 sachets FSF Reishi sachets (or other instants)
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- pinch of quality salt
- water, almond milk, hemp milk or milk of your choice
- (cinnamon, cardamom, chili, ginger or other spices and herbs)
- (stevia if you desire even sweeter chips)

Raw Kale Chips ”Sweet & Salty”

Ingredients

- 1 big bunch of kale (approx. 150g)
- One choice of the following:
- 3-4 sachets of FSF Reishi (for licorice flavor) OR
- 2 tbsp lucuma (for really sweet chips) OR
- 2 tbsp raw cacao powder OR
- 2 tbsp spirulina or chlorella powder (for the ultimate experience! YUM!)
- 0,5 dl Green Honey
- 2 tbsp almond or nut butter OR 0,5 dl peeled almonds, cashews or other nuts of your choice
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- pinch of salt

Preparation method

Warm up the own to 45 celsius (approx. 115 °F) or if you have a dehydrator, prepare it ready. Prepare the spice mixture by mixing all ingredients, except for kale, thoroughly in a bowl until well mixed. Rip off kale spines and tear into bite sized pieces. Cover in the sauce and massage well with fingers! (and remember to lick your fingers well after that – sauce is to die for!) Do not massage too hard though, because then it breaks the cell walls of the kale and you will end up with not that crispy chips.
Place the kale on teflex sheets in your dehydrator for 5-8 hours or until crispy. Turn the chips a few times while they are drying and try to avoid eating them before they are ready! :)

If you are using a conventional oven, put a kitchen cloth between the oven door so that it stays little open so the moisture gets out of the oven. For non-raw, ”fast food chips” you can also dehydrate them in the oven in approx. 95 °C (or 200 °F) about half an hour and then another 30 minutes.

Hopefully you will still have some left when they are ready!
